Yes you will have ur face protected, but because the headgear is so damn big its gonna be very hard to slip punches. Some of these models are enormous.more like a football helmet. Almost every facesaver imaginable has a combination or atleast one of these four problems:ġ) Too big. There are FOUR big problems facesaver headgears tend to have that I feel need to be addressed.
This being said, I want to talk to you folks about my experiences with face saver headgears:Īlthough there are dozens and dozens of facesaver headgears on the market, it can be hard to find a decent one for some people, especially guys like me (big nose). I ended up getting my heart broken by the Winning FG-5000 as you will hear later. After I realized the problems it caused me.I looked into facesaver headgears. As you can see, getting your nose busted up can be a huge pain in the ass. My septum is crooked, my cardio has never been the same, and I am getting surgery this december. I got into a street fight 2 years ago and had my nose punched 2 times. People who dont wear headgear and opt to spar at 20 percent are going to be in for a big suprise when they get into a street fight. But I do believe that realistic sparring (at least every once in a while) is necessary to prepare you for a violent encounter. For some people its just not worth it to get your nose broken again and again. Lets face it, alot of guys end up needing surgery or wind up with breathing problems. For many people into martial arts/combat sports, protecting the nose is of high priority. Not only does your nose protrude, but it also plays a vital function: BREATHING. Your nose is a protrusion from ur face that can be broken VERY easily by a strike. From my experience, most people buy them to protect their noses. I have shopped around and had quite a few facesavers - i know what im talking about.įacesaver headgears are a great option for all kinds of people.
